    How Do I Reset My Electric Gate?

    Resetting your electric gate can resolve many common issues like unresponsive controls, incorrect travel limits, or glitchy behavior. Here are four reset methods, from simple to complete factory reset.

    Before You Begin

    Always disconnect solar panels or battery backup before resetting to avoid partial resets. Keep your gate motor manual handy for model-specific instructions.

    Method 1: Basic Power Reset

    The simplest reset that resolves many minor glitches:

    1. Turn off power - Locate the circuit breaker for your gate motor and switch it OFF, or unplug the motor
    2. Wait 30-60 seconds - Allow capacitors to discharge completely
    3. Turn power back on - Restore power via circuit breaker or plug
    4. Test the gate - Try operating with remote or wall button

    Method 2: Control Board Reset

    For more stubborn issues, reset the control board directly:

    1. Open the motor control box - Usually requires a screwdriver
    2. Find the reset button - Look for a small button labeled "RESET" or "LEARN"
    3. Press and hold - Hold for 5-10 seconds until LED lights flash or you hear beeps
    4. Release button - Wait for confirmation (steady light or beep pattern)
    5. Reprogram remotes - You'll need to re-sync all remote controls

    Method 3: Limit Switch Reset

    If your gate won't stop at the correct positions, reset the travel limits:

    1. Access the motor unit - Open the control box
